You can add a Discount or Coupon when you go here: YourDomain.com > Modules > Ecommerce: Products (mX) > Global Discounts/Coupons

First let me explain what a Discount is.  A Discount is something you offer your customers that will save your customers money.  Whether its a percentage off, a dollar amount off,  free shipping, or a free item.

There are 2 ways to offer a Discount. A Global Discount, and a Coupon.

A Global Discount is a discount that applies to all users (or if designed to, specific users) without needing a coupon or Promo code.

A Coupon is the "promo code" and it will also determine when the coupon expires, how many times it can be used.  A coupon NEEDS a discount applied to it.  A global discount does not need to be associated with a Coupon and cannot be.

Here is how you create a Discount:

Click on "Add Discount" and this is the screen you will see:

(NOTE: By Default no discount is applied to any item or buyer.)

This area is extremely flexible.  Understanding the different areas of the discount will help you make a discount do what you wish it to do. (NOTE: ALWAYS TEST YOUR DISCOUNTS as a customer in several scenarios)

I recommend naming your discount appropriate to what the discount will be.  For example if your discount is for a percentage off shoes, then I would name it accordingly(10% off Red Shoes).

NOTE: all fields under the "Discount Types" area do not need to be filled out.  Only the areas that will pertain to your discount

Under the "Use Conditions" this is where you can specify if the discount applies to certain buyers, certain products or when an order is between a certain price.

Discount Types:

Per order - This area will allow you to specify a particular dollar or percent discount for the order. (NOTE you can tell the discount in the use conditions which items, buyers or order amounts get this amount off)

Per Item - This area lets you specify a more precise discount if you wish to apply a discount per item with ranges. (For example when 10 or more are purchased buyers can get 10% off, and when 20 or more are purchased they get 12% off etc...)

Shipping Discount - This area will let you choose to apply a percent off Shipping, Free Shipping for selected items or Free Shipping for all items.(for more ways to apply shipping upcharges or other ways to define shipping see here)

Volume Discount - This area will let you setup different scenarios with Volume discounts.  For example if you wish to offer a "buy 1 get 1 free" this is where you would specify.  You can specify what free items are available.  You can also setup a Percent or Dollar Discount for every X amount of items purchased.

As you can see in this example there are 2 global discounts. (you can identify which are global discounts because they will be inbetween the "Add Discount" button and "Global Discounts".)  There is no limit to the number of global discounts, or Coupons.

Coupons:

Now lets show an example of a Coupon and how it can be used.

You can find the option to "Add Coupon" at the bottom of the "Global Discounts/Coupons" page.

Here is what that screen will look like:

This is where you will specify the "Coupon ID" which some sites call the "Promo code".  It is the actual name that your customers will enter to be able to receive this coupon.  NOTE: it is case sensitive

You can also determine when this coupon expires, and how many times it can be used. (NOTE at this point there is no discount applied to this coupon.  That is setup next)

Once your Coupon is setup you will want to add a Discount for that coupon.

First you will need to determine where in the world you would like to ship your items.

You can see here that in this example there are 2 zones setup(United States & Canada).  NOTE: setting up a zone DOES NOT setup any form of shipping to that zone.  That will be done in the "Shipping Conditions and Methods" area after this is done.

Setting up multiple zones allows you to create separate shipping methods for each zone. If there are any countries which you do not ship to - then they should be left out of any zones that you create.

To create a zone, first type in a zone name:

(it is best to name the zone something that will be relevant to the area that you can easily identify later.  Customers will not see this name)

In the example above I want to create a zone that just ships to Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.  That is what I named the zone.  And have selected those areas under "US States".

Once the areas are selected click on "Add Item"

Once the areas are added to the "Selected Items" column, you can click "Add" to add it as a newly created zone.

1. First add a page. (See instructions here on how to add a page.)
2. Next you will want to add blog frames to this blog page.  See screenshot and instructions below

On your NEW blank Blog page, choose an empty frame.  And change the frame type.

Then Choose one of these frame types below:

You will need a "Posts" frame.

and a "Search Box" is recommended.

The "Calendar" and "Category List" are optional.

Repeat the instructions above to add each frame type you would like to use on your blog page.

Once your products are entered into the members area, you will need to create a page to display them.

Your "products" page will need to have a few different frames to work well.  And then there are some optional frames.  First we will discuss the needed frames for an e-commerce page.

now that your page has the basics you can save, and preview page to see if it lays out as you like.

The Product page is the page where multiple products will be listed.  The product details page, is a seperate page all together.  That page will show more details about the selected product.  That page can also have a customized layout.

The Layout Builder is quite flexible, which allows you to customize your website's own unique product layout.  For specific assistance on creating a layout please feel free to contact support.

There are a couple ways you can put a video on your site.

1. Embed YouTube/Vimeo Video

2. Upload Video into our player

To add a YouTube or Vimeo video to your site you will need to have first uploaded your video to YouTube or Vimeo.  Once that is complete you can get what is called an "Embed script" that will show the YouTube or Vimeo player with your video on it, in your site.

Copy the script and paste it in source view on the page you wish to use to display the video.

If you wish to upload your video to your site and use the player within your site you would follow these steps below:

1. Once you are on the page where you want your video to display, pick an empty frame (or create a new one) then change the frame type to "Media player".

NOTE: the Media player frame also can playback Audio files.

and click "Save". (that will take you to the frame settings)

2. You can upload your video from this page.  And set the player for different types of video files.  See screenshot:

NOTE: If you are unsure what type of video file you want to use on your site please contact support.  Also support can turn on the new feature for the video uploader, which will convert your video upon upload to the most compatible version for Mac, PC, and Mobile.

NOTE: Our server has limit setting set to 51 MB at a time(files larger than that will not upload with the regular uploader).  However the Java Uplaoder splits files to small pieces when uploading to the server, then puts them back together.  please use the Java uplaoder or FTP for large files

Yes, that can be done with some CSS coding.

1.Choose a color code you want to use (here is a free site for finding color codes)

2.Enter the code below (with the color code you desire) into the Head section addons. (see image at the bottom of the page for the location of the head sections addon)

Once you have the code with the correct colors you can copy the code to the "Head Sections Add ons" of either a specific page (in the page settings area) or if you wish to apply it to the whole site you would paste the code in the "head section addons" in the "Site Template and settings" area.

You can customize the notifications the system sends for each module.

This Answer will discuss:

To access the area where you can customize your notifications you will need to go to the membership module that corresponds with the module you wish to customize.  For example, if you want to update your blog notifications you will need to go to the "Mailer" area that connects to your blog module. Like this: YourDomain.com > Modules > Membership: Blog (mX) > Mailer

Once you are in the "Mailer" area, you will need to click on the "topics" area next to the "System messages" for the module your are looking to customize.

Once you have clicked on "topics" you will be able to edit any of the individual notifications that go out automatically.

See the lists below to see the variables available for each module.

Blog:

%blogName% - The name of your blog module.
%postTitle% - The title of your post.
%postContent% - The text of your post or an excerpt from it.
%postLink% - The link to your post on the site.
%postAuthorName% - The name of the post author.

To make a Remote Hands request you first need to go to Http://ticket.websiteforge.com

Or you can visit the links in your "Sites and Invoices" area:

Fill out the information with your request, be sure to select "Remote Hands" in the "Topic" area and click "Create Ticket". 

 You will generally hear back from Remote hands within a few hours.  This repsonse is usually geared toward any questions they may have and if all is clear on the request a time estimate will be given. 

Depending on the size of the task most Remote hands request are completed within 1 to 7 days.

Using the "Import Inventory" area will allow you to update your QOH (Quantity On Hand).

You can export your Current QOH levels in the "products" area of your ECommerce Module.

Once you export your current inventory level, you can update the file to reflect the updated QOH.

This is what the exported (or newly created file if creating one from scratch) will look like:

Now that your inventory CSV is updated you can now import it.  You will need to go to the "Import Inventory" area of your ECommerce Module.

Click on "browse" to locate your updated inventory file, and click open.  Once you see your file listed next to the "Browse" button you can click "import".

And you are done.

The left hand pane will get you around the members area.  This is the panel that I'm referring to:

There are several ways to getting around that will make your job easier.  First let's explain a few things.

1. you can have multiple websites under 1 login (as seen in the screenshot above)
2. to access anything for a specific site, you will need to click the "+" next to the domain that you are trying to edit. (In the screenshot above, I have the manual.websiteforge.com domain expanded)
3. There are very similar areas under "Modules" and "Pages".  Be sure when you are looking for a particular area that you are aware of where you are looking (for example under the "modules" area, there is an "ECommerce" area.  There is also an "ECommerce" area under "Pages".  They do 2 different things.
4. Modules: this area will control the settings and data in a module. (for example if you have an ECommerce module, this area under "modules" will be where you can add, update and edit the products on your site)
5. Pages: this area controls the layout and content of the pages seen on your website (For example if you have an ECommerce Module, you can adjust the look and layout of your products on the page your products are shown.  You can also add new pages and content to any page of your site in the "Pages" area.

Some of the ways to get around easier are:

All of these area's will be helpful for you to locate a page quickly.  This is very useful when you have hundreds of pages.

This area is where you can see your ratings and reviews.  And if you have "moderation" turned on, you can approve your reviews in this area as well.

There are 2 ways to add Product Options. 

1. Global Product Options. (that are added in this area: YourDomain.com > Modules > Ecommerce: Products (mX) > Product Options ) These options can apply to multiple products.  For example: if you have T-shirts and sell different sizes you can setup sizes that can apply to multiple items.  Here is a quick video on how to do this.

2. Per Item Product Options.  These options are setup within the product.  They apply only to the product that you are adding the options to.

Here is a brief description for each option type:

Enum - is used for creating product options where the Buyer can select (one or more) options from a list of options. Each product can have multiple Enum options if needed. Enum options can have weight and price modifiers -- in case the one or more of the available options needs to increase or decrease the product's weight or price.

Tree - is used when options in the list need to be categorized. For example: Select Make -> Select Model. There the list of models would be dependant upon the select Make.

Custom Text - is used when you need the Buyer to have the option to supply text with the product. For example: a Gift Message.

Custom Price - is used when you need the Buyer to specify the price they will pay. This is most commonly used for a selling a Gift Certificate, or if you use the website to collect online payments.

Custom File - allows Buyers to send a file with their product/order. This is common with Customized products (engaved products, for example).

Custom Number - is similar to Custom Text - however it collects numbers only.

Custom Date - allows Buyers to provide a date with the product/order. For example: selecting a delivery a date.

Custom Weight - allows buyers to supply a weight for the purchase. Keep in mind, if your shipping rates are calculated by weight, this will affect shipping costs.

Global Product options that apply to multiple products are setup here:

Here is a list of Global Product option types:

Enum is one of the more common Product Options.  It has many uses.  For example you would use Enum for the example of shirt sizes.  You can set up as many in the list as you would like, and can choose if the option increases or decreases the price of the product.  You can also choose if the option will increase or decrease the weight of the product.  See example below:

Tree - is used when options in the list need to be categorized. For example: Select Make -> Select Model. There the list of models would be dependant upon the select Make.

Custom Text - is used when you need the Buyer to have the option to supply text with the product. For example: a Gift Message.

Custom Price - is used when you need the Buyer to specify the price they will pay. This is most commonly used for a selling a Gift Certificate, or if you use the website to collect online payments.

Custom File - allows Buyers to send a file with their product/order. This is common with Customized products (engaved products, for example).

Custom Number - is similar to Custom Text - however it collects numbers only.

In this area you can add more Product types and Fields.

First lets explain what a product type is:

A Product Type allows you to create product fields unique to products given a specific type.  It also allows you to create a unique layout for each, or a certain product type.

A Product Field is:

A product field is a field that you see when editing the products.  For example some of the default fields are "price" "Description" "Sku".  You can add fields as needed.

There are several different types of Product Fields.  Here is what they are and what they do:

NOTE: by default the product fields that show up on your products details page layout are: SKU, Title, Image, Description, Control Line(which is your add to cart option), product options, & price.  Any new fields created will need to be added to the layout of your item list frame and configured.  To see more info on the layout builder please go here

With these set of options they will vary slightly by selction.  See more below

The best way to do that is to do a Category Import.

A category import will add, or update your Category structure. 

Here is what a Category CSV file looks like:

You can manually create this file, or you can do an export of some already created categories.  Click here to see how to do that.

In the first column you have the Category Name (the "/" creates or refers to a Sub-Category)

1. Then you have the "active" status.  1=active, 0=Inactive
   
2. The description field uses HTML to format the text, but isn't required.
3. In the image field you can specify where an image is located that represents that Category
4. SE Page Title: This is the Search Engine Page title. 
5. SE Meta Description: if nothing is specified here it will use the "Description" field
6. SE Meta Keywords: If nothing is specified here it will use Title

When all of the data is entered into the file, click "File", "Save as" and name your file and choose "(CSV)Comma Delimited" as the file type

Once you have your file ready to import you can go to the "Import Category" area in your E-Commerce Module:

Then Click on "Browse" to upload the CSV file you just created.  Select the file from the stored location on your Hard drive, then leave the "Field Delimiter" to "Comma" and the "Character Set" to "Windows-1252".  Then click "Parse first line"

once that is done you will see a screen that looks like this:

Be sure the fields match up.  Where is says "Name" on the left, be sure the drop down is the field you want to use for the Category Name and so on.

Next you want to choose the "Import Mode". 

Add will add any new Categories that do not already exist. (NOTE if your file has categories listed that already exist the import will just skip those and generate an error at the end stating the field already exists)

"Update" will update any of your existing Categories with new information in the file for those categories listed.(NOTE: If your file has new categories that are not already created in your Categories area, UPDATE will not create them and will generate an error upon completion stating that the category does not exist)

"Delete" will delete the items specified in your CSV File.

Under "Import Mode" you have the option to "delete all Categories before import"

And you do want to select "Don't import First Line of File".  Because the first line is the Header of the file.

Bongo is a 3rd party company that does international shipping.  They Require membership with their services to use them.  You can read more about the pricing and services offered by Bongo Here

You would enable Bongo services by Contacting Support and letting them know that you want to enable the Bongo service for your site.  (This would be done after you have obtained a membership with Bongo)

Once the Support Department enables bongo for your site you will see it in your list under "Ecommerce".

You will see this screen on the right, once you click on Bongo Settings:

Once you click "enable" you will see the options for "Bongo Connect" or "Bongo Checkout".  Choose which reflects the account that you have with Bongo.

Then you will need to enter your Partner Key.

You can choose to "Submit Products but Don't Use Bongo Calculator"

You can then choose the Bongo Location Address

The countries that you will ship to are in the next drop down.

The terms that you use are in the last option here.

If you use "Bongo Checkout" you will have a place to enter the "Checkout URL".

Your DNS Settings, are settings relating to your Domain name.  They tell your Registrar(the company that you have your domain name with, like Godaddy or Rcomexpress) where the files are stored for your website.  They can also tell the registrar where your Email is being hosted.

Below you will find details for different scenarios possible for your site.

If you plan to use WebsiteForge as your DNS Host and have no other existing Website or Email functions using your domain name, then please set your DNS Servers to the following:

You need to point your DNS to:

NS1.WSFCLOUD.NET

NS2.WSFCLOUD.NET

If you use different DNS servers and use WebsiteForge to host your Website:

You need to point these records to our addresses:

If you use different DNS servers and use WebsiteForge for your Email:

Then you can contact Support and let us know where you need your mail records pointed.

To create a tax field for your state you would need to go here: YourDomain.com > Modules > Ecommerce: Products (mX) > Taxes

And add your state and your state's Tax amount.

In the example above we are using a "US Base Tax System" for the state of "Maine" and a tax rate of 6%.

NOTE: the "State Tax" is there by default only when the tax system is set to "US"
When its set to none then it's gone and the taxes are configured manually

If you wish to manually create a Tax, you can do so by clicking the "Add Tax" button.

You will want to name the tax according to your needs for the tax.

Setting the "Percent" is the base for any other calculations made in that tax.  If you need to add different percentages for different zip codes, then the "Tax Markup" will be above the percentage set in THIS area.
Apply To Items: This area will allow you to choose if this tax rate applies to only certain Items.

Apply to Shipping: This selection will determine if Shipping is taxed or not. (you can also say if you want it applied to all items or items shipped from a certain Shipping source)

Apply to Tax-Exempt Customers: This option will apply this tax rate to Tax Exempt customers.

Take Address From: You can decide if you want to charge tax on the Billing address or the Shipping address here.

Country: Choose your Country here.

State/Province: Choose your State/Province here.

Zip Code Ranges: This area is where you can specify a markup for different zip code ranges.  NOTE: it will charge a markup on the "Percentage" field specified above this option.

Apply Only to Buyers with: This area can help you make the tax apply to certain buyers in different ways.  For more detailed info on this area please feel free to contact Support

You will find the "Export to Quickbooks" area under YourDomainName.com > Modules > Ecommerce: Products (mX) > Orders > Export to QuickBooks

You will need experience importing to Quickbooks in order to use this feature.

Once you are there you will want to map relevant fields from users to the relevant fields in Quickbooks.

Once the fields are mapped you can click "Save".  And then you can click "Export".  This will create an .IIF file that can be imported into quickbooks.  

This area allows you to Make order statuses, set whether a status notifies you and the customer, Allows you to customize the invoice sent to the customer and more...

Here is a breakdown of the items listed in the screenshot:

"Notify Managers of Order Assignments" will notify your sub-account users when you have assigned them an order.

"Export One Line Per Item" it puts each item in a new row, instead of one line per-order

"Hide Order Status from Notifications" this will supress the status of the order when a notification goes out.

"Send a Copy of Customer Invoice to Owner" will copy the email address that is located in the "My profile" area a copy of the customers invoice

"Attach CSV to Owner Notification Emails" will include a CSV of the order in the owners email. (owner is determined by the email used in the "my profile" area under Dashnoard)

"Attach CSV to Vendor Notification Emails" will include a CSV of the order in the Vendors email. (Vendor Email is setup in the "shipping sources" area when editing a specific vendor)

By Default there are 5 statuses made "In progress", "New", "Declined", "Cancelled", and "Deleted".  You can determine if you or the client gets these notifications by checking the corresponding box.  The "New" status is greyed out and you can not change whether it notifies you, or the customer.(it DOES by default)

You can enable and disable "Item level Statuses".  

What this feature does is let you create a status for each item in an order.  So if you are able to ship some of the order, and some items are back ordered.  You can specify which items shipped and which are still back ordered.

In this area you can customize the look of the Invoice that your customers will receive.

You can choose from the drop down list which invoice you will customize. 

You can also customize the invoices that you will receive when a customer places an order.  Or the notice the vendor gets. (if you have a Vendor email address specified in the "Shipping Sources" area.

Here is the list of variables that can be used when customizing the invoices:

%store_url% - a link to the site
%number% - order number
%status% - order status
%date% - order date
%buyer_name%

Variable names must be written in lower case. %buyer_name%, not %Buyer_Name%
