Increase the conversions by offering a discount for those that have abandoned cart!  Targeted Re-Marketing can really increase sales and decrease abandoned carts.  Sometimes just a simple message letting people know they forgot to finish the checkout process is all that is needed. 

Don't leave your shoppers hanging...let them know you are happy to keep their business.

It is easy to get this setup in your WebsiteForge website. 

 There are some variables listed here for you to use.  These pieces of code will show the user what it was that they left in their cart.  If you have any questions on this please feel free to contact support and anyone there can help you set this up. :)

The new page builder is currently being used on a beta trial.  If you are interested in trying out the new builder please contact support to have them enable it for your site.  Once the builder is finished the beta process it will be available to all users system wide.

Another great feature of the new page builder is the ability to edit your site from the /Preview page.

Here we will discuss:

You can switch between the links at the top of this area to see more about that area.

Active Sessions are vistors that are on your site now.  It will show you what page they are on.  And if you click the "History" button next to the page, you can see what pages they have been on, in your site.  And where they came to your site from.

Inactive Sessions are people that have been on your site.  This area will show you what time the visitor was there, how many pages they visited.  the total time they were on your site.  their IP address, and what Browser they used.  If you click the "History" button you will see their path similar to the one shown in the "Active session" screenshot above.

Abandoned Carts will show you a cart that someone decided not to check out with.  It will show you the Name(most will show Guest, unless they logged in). Last Page visited, When they Left, the number of pages visited, The total time they were on the site, and how many items were in the cart. You can click on the History button here as well and get detailed info on how they came to your site.

Searches will show you all of the seraches done on your site.

Zero Search Results will show you all the searches done on your site, that turned up no results. (this may mean you need to update some keywords in your items or add some synonyms.  See Full text search Results for Synonyms.  You will need to edit your products to update Keywords)

You can also see a great deal of information regarding your site stats in the "Site Stats and Backup" area.

One really great way to reduce the amount of 404 hits on your site is to have a "full text Search" as your 404 page, this is also really great for SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

You can enable this option in your "Site Template and Settings" area.

When using this option you can have the system search, instead of showing a 404 page.  So for example if you had an alias "christmas" indexed:  http://www.YourDomain.com/christmas
And that URL no longer exists.  Instead of a 404 error page showing, it redirects to the "Full Text Search" page and searches for whatever characters are used after "http://www.YourDomain.com/" so it goes to that page and searches all pages and products for "christmas".  This is also helpful if people had an old website and now all of the page and product URLs are different.

NOTE: if you select the "FULL TEXT SEARCH" in there are no pages for you to select in the second drop down, this means you need to add a page with the "Full Text Search Result" frame and the "Full Text Search Box" frame.

Another cause of increased 404 errors on your site is altering a category name.

Categories create automatic aliases for a "Category page" for example: http://manual.websiteforge.com/5m2/ways-to-get-help.html ("ways to get help" is a category)  Since that category is already indexed on the Search Engines, if I make a change to the category name in any way (even changing a space  or adding 1 character) the URL will no longer work, because the alias name will not be the same anymore.  Having the full text search as the 404 will help eliminate this problem as well.

Page groups are groups for the pages on your site.  Its an easy way for you to locate a certain type of page.  (you can organize your pages into any group structure you want)

And only you will see this structure in your members area.  The structure will not reflect how your site is viewed at all.

let's take a look at some examples of page groups and how to add them.

The red highlighted area are some examples of page groups.  By default you will have a page group for EACH  module that you have.  Because there are corresponding pages for those modules.

In this example I've added the page group "Active Site Pages".  The rest of the page groups are there by default and cannot be removed.  Because I like to make clones of my pages, I keep the clones de-activated in the "Default group".  And then I can easily find the pages I use on this site under the "Active Site Pages" Page group.  Since this site doesn't have a complicated structure that is all I needed for it.  But you can create page groups for all kinds of scenarios.  Like if you have restricted pages for certain users, you can have a page group for each users group.  This will not grant access to those groups, but will make the pages easier to locate when you are needing to make a change to those user pages.

Let's take a look at how to add a page group:

Go to YourSite.com > Page List, and then next to the "add group" button enter the name you wish to use for your new page group.  Then click the "add group " button.

Once the new group is added you can start creating pages for that group or move existing pages to the new group.  Here is how you can do that.

In the Page Settings of an existing page (or on the settings page when adding a new page) you can select the new group.

The Layout Builder is the area where you can make a layout for your Products, Blog posts, Ads, Or your Advanced Gallery.   Here is how it works.

Your modules have "Fields".  In your E-commerce module you have product fields like Description, Price, Title, etc... 

Your Blog Module is the only module where you can't add and remove fields, but all other modules can add and remove fields.  Having a field and displaying it are 2 different things.

Fields are added in the module and data is added to these fields by adding/editing your Products/Items.

A Layout Builder is how the Page/Frame displays your Products/Items.

Each Layout builder works the same.  You add the fields to the layout where you want to display them.  You can move them around by dragging them where you want them to be displayed.  And the content of the fields is edited in the module itself when editing an item.

When you are in your Websiteforge Members area, and expand your domain name on the left panel you will see a list of items, among that list you will see "pages".  If you expand "Pages" you will see a blue link for "Add page".

Next you will be taken to the "page Settings" screen that looks like this:

• You can choose your page group here.  (more on page groups here)
• Choose whether the page is active or not. (NOTE: pages that are not active cannot be previewed)
• Next is your "Page name".  This is the name you will see in your page list.  It is for your personal reference.  and is a required field.
• Next is your "page Title" this is the name that will show on the browser tab of your page, and can optionally be shown on the page in the next step. This is also a required field
• Next is the option to show the title on the page or not.
• Next if you have multiple designs for your site you can choose which design you want to apply to this page.  Also you can choose to have "No Design" and make your new page without a specific template applied.
• Next is the option to add a Site Menu item, by default adds this new page to the site menu with the "Page Name" that you gave it above.  If you wish to add your site menu link to this page later you can choose "Do not add" in the drop down list and add it at any time later in the "Site Menu" area.  Or you can change the name of the Site menu link in the next step.
• Next this is the name that will show on your site menu. Click here to see more info on adding a site menu item later
  
• Next if you wish to have this page acccessed by a single username and password you can specify it here.  (If you want to have members access the page please see how to set that up here)

• Next is "Restricted Access" this is what you check if you wish to make this page accessible to members in a group.  (For more details on setting this up click here)
• Next is "Secure Page".  This is used to secure certain pages on your site.  Your merchant or Pci compliance provider may require certain pages to be secured.  This is what you check to secure them. (NOTE: by default your checkout pages are already secured)
• Next is "Copy Protection".  This will not allow users to copy content from your page.  But use this carefully, when this option is checked it will make the page virtually invisible to crawlers and will affect your Search engine ranking for this page
• This next area is for creating a pop up box dimensions and selecting an already created page for your pop up.  (NOTE: Be aware most browsers now enable pop up blockers and your site visitors may not see your pop up message.)
•  "use for full text search" is for the search box called "full text search" if you want this page to be searched when that box is being used then you would want to check this box
• "Page logo for FB" you can add a logo here that when this page is pasted to facebook it will use that logo for this page.

This area will give you access to your site statistics and show you when your backups were last done.

To access your Site Stats click on a month next to your site name to view that months site statistics.

Understanding Your Website Statistics

Your website statistics (sometimes referred to as metrics) can help you see how many visitors come to your site, what pages they view, how long they remain at your site, and where they came from. Web metrics will also show what search engines and keywords were used to find your site.

Here are some definitions you may find useful:

• Unique Visitors - The number of unique visitors to your site. If someone visits your site every day during the month, they are only included once, assuming they visit from the same computer and/or IP address.
  
• Number of Visits - The total number of visits to your site. If someone visits your site every day during the month, each visit will be included in this number.
  
• Pages - This is sometimes referred to as page views, and refers to the total number of pages that your site has displayed. If someone visited your site once during the month and viewed ten different pages, each page they viewed would be included in this number.
  
• Hits - This is often the most recognized but least important number, because a "hit" is registered every single time an element (technically a file such as a page or an image) is opened. If someone visited your site once during the month and viewed ten different pages, and each page had nine photos on it, this one visit would account for 100 "hits."
  
• Bandwidth - This is the amount of data that is transferred from your site to your visitors' computers. Each time a file, such as text, an image, or a song or video is displayed, it uses bandwidth roughly equal to the size of the file. This means that large files, such as videos, use more bandwidth than small files, such as simple text pages. Every account has a bandwidth quota, so this number can be helpful in determining how yours is being allocated.

You will find lots of information in this report. Some of the more helpful statistics include:

• Monthly History
• Daily History
• Visits Duration (how long visitors stayed on your site)
• Pages - URL (which pages were most frequently viewed, which pages visitors landed on when they arrived at your site, and which pages visitors were on when they left your site)
• Origin (connect to site from shows which sites visitors came to your site from)
• Search (which keywords and keyword phrases were used to find your site)

Backups will be shown in this list for the last 3 days. 

Pages are backed up and stored for 30 days.

Modules are stored for 30 days.

Files are backed up once a day, and stored for 2 weeks.
